TONIGHT is senior night for five of our FALCON CAGERS…..and (a big sad sigh!!!!) our last home game for the season. This will be a very special night to first of all honor the parents who have supported these boys throughout their years of participating in this wonderful program with putting up with the crazy busy schedule, all the hours of travel time and cheering with all they have for our FALCON CAGERS!!!!. Secondly, we want to honor these three boys who have put so much time and hard work into what we see on game nights.
We will be honoring:

Donald and Latisha Thompson for supporting number 5, Hunter Thompson, who started with the basketball program in September 2010. When he first started in 2010 he had NO CLUE what he was doing out there and was afraid to hurt the other players to the point where we encouraged him to get a foul. Well, let me just say, that he caught on very quickly and is pretty good at getting those pushing and jersey pulling fouls. I am absolutely sad to see this year end, as he seemed to bring so much confidence this year to the court that I think I can say we have all been surprised with how he has brought the rain from down town. I am sure what will remember the most from Hunter is his enthusiam and his loyalty for this program, his team and the game. You could see it on his face and in the way he played the game.
Then we will be honoring Craig M. Ryan and Telly Ryan for supporting number 11, William Ryan, who started participating in the Owosso Home School Sports program two years ago in 2015, has been an amazing asset to this team and to this program. His knowledge of the game and his leadership that he has shown!!! Love hearing him shouting out to the other players what needs to get done on the court. Will seems to always be cheering for his team. Will is the type of teammate that was about his teammates!!!

Then we will be honoring Tricia Fee for supporting number 21, Ben Fee. One of our big guys who God blessed this program with. Ben started with us this program just this season. We have enjoyed watching him this year as we saw him in the post demanding those defensive and offensive rebounds. Ben is the one that is known for encouraging the guys to be Christ-like. Thank you so much Ben for sharing your senior year with this program.

Next we are honoring Joe Blaylock and Leigh Blaylock for supporting number 12, Josh Blaylock, aka DaMoose, who started with our program in 2011 and has been on the varsity team for 5 years. Josh has received 1 Falcon Award and 1 MVP award from our program and 1 MVP from the Spring Vale Classic Tournaments. His highest scoring game was 32 points. Last season he scored 465 points and I am positive has scored over 1,000 points during his varsity years. Josh….was he the Power Forward or Center or maybe both….The big guy, the one with the muscles…the one that had to catch those passes and hit shots near the basket. A good, rugged re-bounder…. The guy that can’t be stopped going up to crash the glass for the offensive and defenders rebounds, he reminds me of a steam engine when he is driving the rock to the bucket. Not sure I would want to be in his way. Or how about hat aggressive elevator ride for the rebound or his incredible way to shutdown the opponent with his block party. Josh is the one who we could count on for those beautiful lay-ups that left his defenders scrambling around trying to figure out how to defend it.

Last but definitely not least we are honoring David Wilson and Carolina Wilson for supporting number 35, Avery Wilson, who started in our program in 2010. Avery’s highest scoring game was 42 points and has scored 1,149 points in 53 games over the last 3 seasons, WHICH DOES NOT INCLUDE TOURNAMENTS. Is that crazy or what???? He has received 4 regular season MVP’s and 3 tournament MVP’s. Avery…. the all-purpose player on offense, the one who can do it all: aggressive, quick and strong; tall enough to mix it up inside but has crazy quick handles. Avery is the one that we counted on to be able to score from the inside but what we really LOVED is his ability to make it rain. I think Avery was considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the five main basketball positions. Primarily responsible for scoring points. Avery, also, definitely had an ability to get to the charity stripe by taking the ball hard to the bucket with his post-ups and lay-ups.
You can see Avery Wilson’s 4 pointer at about 4:45.
